St Edburg's Church - Bicester

There are TWO branches of the Mothers' Union:

 

• The St Edburg's Church branch run by Pat Moore

• The Bicester Area branch run by Charlotte Kingston

 

 Regarding the St Edburg's Branch.  

This meets in Church on the 4th Wednesday of each month starting at 2.30pm, although the December meeting is usually a different date TBA. We start the meeting with prayers and a bible reading, followed by a speaker.

 

We are part of Bicester with Deddington Deanery consisting of four branches: St Edburg’s, Bicester Area, Bloxham, and Bodicote. Different committees meet at St Edburg’s twice a year to report on meetings and various festivals taking place in the different churches in turn. 

 

Back to St Edburg’s. We end the meetings with cups of tea, biscuits and a raffle until 4pm.

 

Regarding the Bicester Area Branch.

This meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm.  It is called Bicester Area Branch and some of our members go to the village churches.

Before the pandemic we met in each other’s houses. When Covid came we started meeting on Zoom. In the July meeting we met in our garden and had strawberries and cream with Prosecco!  We have decided to continue to meet by Zoom during the winter months.

 

During our meeting on Tuesday 9th November we discussed about and praying for the 16 days of Activism against gender based violence and abuse.

Although it is a Mothers’ Union meeting, anyone who wishes to ‘come along’ is most welcome.  We have men as well as women in our branch!
